BBC World news anchor to moderate GEB

Mishal Husain, anchor for the BBC's international news channel BBC World is one of the experts moderating GEB 2008. Husain will lead several discussions when global energy leaders assemble to discuss latest developments and solutions in Basel, Switzerland, in November 2008.

"We are delighted that Mishal Husain has joined our moderator team," said GEB event director Peter Räber. “She has a wealth of international experience and is an excellent interviewer who is not afraid to ask tough questions.” Husain complements the list of moderators including, among others, Klaus Töpfer, former Executive Director UNEP, Christoph Frei, Senior Director at the World Economic Forum, and the Economist’s Vijay Vaitheeswaran.

Mishal Husain was previously a presenter on the BBC News talk show HARDtalk Extra and on BBC Breakfast. She joined the BBC in 1998 and since then has worked in a variety of roles: in the BBC’s Economics and Business Unit, as the corporation's Washington correspondent, on the daily Breakfast programme, on the Asia Business Report (based in Singapore), and as a presenter of business news on both BBC World News and the BBC News Channel.
